Google’s Amazing Floating Data Centers

Google’s Amazing Floating Data Centers

Google is in the final stages of building
a four-story tall data center on a ship in San Francisco Bay that will be not only cooled,
but also powered, renewably, by the ocean. An investigative report by CNET left little
doubt that the secretive project is the work of Google, who has set the project up under
the name “By And Large,” a play on the Buy N Large corporation in the Pixar film Wall
E. A patent Google filed in 2008 laid out plans for a data center on a barge that is
continuously powered by ocean currents, using sea water to cool the servers. This is yet
another way Google is leading the world to a better place, because the electricity dedicated
to powering America’s growing need for data centers is approaching 2% of total domestic
energy usage. Not only is this a good move for the environment, but it will allow Google
the flexibility to move its data centers wherever they are needed without breaking them down
or building new ones from the ground up. It seems the Buy n Large analogy is becoming
truer by the day, what with Google already dominating the internet business, poised to
take over the infrastructure of the internet – with fiber, and on the cusp of revolutionizing
modern transportation as we know it through its driverless car technology. Oh yeah, and
it’s stock value just crossed the elite $1,000-a-share threshold.

I wouldn't say that Google is the leader with the internet infrastructure as AT&T is giving them a run for their money. ATT is also in the race for delivering fiber optic internet on their already existing infrastructure in both Texas and Kansas from what I know. Google is about 35% complete in Kansas but still has a long way to go to catch up with ATT.

this is great but damn he's such a tool. This boast-vid in years to come will seem funny then.. when mega data centers will not be needed anymore.

I know this was given up on, but I'm going to ask this anyway. How would this "floating" data center connect to data centers on land? Even if possible imagine the latency. Google wouldn't be able to run fibre, as it is a ship on the ocean.

Google is SkyNet. 24/7 monitoring (aduio and video) of everybody that uses any kind of Google service and/or software; If you have an Android phone, everything you say on the phone, everything you text, everything you search, everything on your phone (photos/videos/music) and any other "personal" information is ALL STORED on Google's servers.

You have NO PRIVACY anymore. They even record you (audio and video) whenever THEY want to, whether it's via your phone, tablet, computer, TV etc. You have an iPad!? Well, if you use any of Google's software (Chrome etc.) your data is being recorded and stored, in case the governement want to use anything against you in future.

You don't use any Google services, and you only use Apple/Microsoft products? Doesn't matter, you are using Google's servers to access whatever you look at on the internet, and, it all gets recorded on your very own secret government profile. Google really is owned and used by the Illuminati/shadow government, and they are using any data/information they have about you, against you.

This comment is also to prove to you that Yahshua/Jesus The Messiah spoke to you (for the reasons He explained). Peace out, Yah guide.
